Vijay Vittal, Regents' Professor and Ira A. Fulton Chair Professor, Arizona State University. Prof. Vittal is a Regents' Professor and the Ira A. Fulton Chair Professor at Arizona State University. He is a Fellow of the IEEE and a member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering. He has been a member of IEEE PES since 1977. He is presently the IEEE PES Vice President for Technical Activities and is the Chair of the IEEE PES Technical Council.

Abstract:

This webinar will highlight and present the results of a detailed survey conducted by the IEEE PES Industry Technical Support Leadership Committee (ITSLC) of several electric utilities, RTOs, and TSOs, around the world. This webinar is a follow-up to the webinar which provided an overview of the results of the survey on May 20, 2020 and specifically addresses the technical impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. The webinar will address topics related to the impact of the pandemic on power system operation, asset management, seasonal maintenance and impact on plans for grid modernization and reinforcement.
