In recent years, new material and improved design led to development of larger and higher rating wind turbines. Offshore wind farms have introduced new engineering challenges. Expansion in offshore wind installation led to introducing the concept of winter lighting for the first time in IEC standards in 2018. Changes in Electrical Industry standards are being made to keep up with the fast pace of renewable energy development. The presentation gives an update on recent trends in wind energy business.
