2021 IEEE PES Outstanding Student Scholarship Recipients
The IEEE Power & Energy Society is proud to announce the selection of the recipients of the 2021 IEEE PES Outstanding Student Scholarship.
This scholarship recognizes PES Student Members from around the world who have chosen an academic path leading to an electric power and energy engineering career. Recipients were chosen based on their academic achievements, contributions to meeting community and humanitarian needs, and leadership in advancing student engagement within PES. All recipients receive US$10,000 and complimentary housing and conference registration at a corresponding PES Regional Conference.
Luis Felipe Gaitan Cubides, from Region 9 and at the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana, who is pursuing a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
Isabelle Vitória Medeiros dos Santos, from Region 9 and at the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo, who is pursuing a Master's degree in Electrical Power Systems.
Juan Fernando Garcia Mathey, from Region 9 and at the Instituto de Ingeniería UNAM Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, who is pursuing a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
Colton Pankhurst, from Region 7 and at the University of Waterloo, who is pursuing a Master's degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE)- Power & Energy Systems.
Yufeng Xiong, from Region 10 and at the Tsinghua University, who is pursuing a Master's degree in Power Systems.
This scholarship is funded via the PES Endowment Scholarship fund which is administered by the IEEE Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation established in 1973 in the State of New York exclusively to support the global scientific and educational purposes of IEEE.
