| PES Careers Information for Employers |
|
Employers in industry, government and education are invited to subscribe to PES-Careers. Independent HR recruiters may also use PES-Careers. PES-Careers targets full-time or part-time employment opportunities or internships for students. IEEE JobSite is recommended for advertising job opportunities for more experienced engineers. Employers can use PES-Careers to promote and enhance their recruiting methods. Here are approaches for employer use of PES-Careers.
When they use PES-Careers, employers don't have to change the way they handle job applications. For each job posting, an employer provides application instructions, which could include using the employer's standard on-line application process. An employer can also specify selected job requirements for a job posting so that students clearly see whether they meet those requirements when they view the posting. PES-Careers can also help employers by announcing web-based events, such as employer information webinars. IEEE PES offers PES-Careers as a free service. In return, IEEE PES makes one request of employers using PES-Careers. Employers are asked to encourage their new power engineering employees to enhance their professional development by becoming regular IEEE PES members. To help young engineers join, employers should consider contributing to their cost of IEEE membership. More information is available about how PES-Careers works.
