Registration Open - Scholarship Plus Golf Outing - Torrey Pines Golf Course

PLAY TODAY AND IMPROVE TOMORROW

Before you attend the PES General meeting spend a day with colleagues while supporting a great cause at Torrey Pines Golf Course.

Registrations are now being taken for the IEEE PES Scholarship Plus Program Golf Outing scheduled for July 21, 2012 at Torrey Pines Golf Course in La Jolla, California.   The golf outing is being sponsored by the IEEE Power & Energy Society and is being held prior to the 2012 IEEE PES General Meeting.   If you participate in this golf outing, you will enjoy a great day of camaraderie and friendly competition between golfing friends and colleagues who will tee it up all for the benefit of the IEEE PES Scholarship Plus Initiative and the Next Generation of Power and Energy Engineers.

Torrey Pines is the nation's foremost municipal golf course. Situated atop cliffs towering above the Pacific Ocean in San Diego, California, golfers marvel at the views of the coastline, deep ravines, and classic championship golf holes. Torrey Pines is the beautiful site of one of the most memorable battles in golf's history--the 2008 U.S. Open.

The IEEE PES Scholarship Plus Initiative™ is attracting top engineering candidates to pursue power engineering careers. The continued success of the initiative depends on organizations that can provide financial support, career experience opportunities and mentoring.

The cost to participate in the golf outing is $300 per person.  There are a limited number of seats available for this golf outing that will offer all competitors the opportunity to win individual and team prizes. Early registration is encouraged as seats will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

This event represents a unique opportunity to put your company's brand in front of industry leaders who have a vested interest in your products while supporting the futures of bright young engineers. By becoming one of our elite tournament sponsors, you have the chance to reach this uniquely targeted audience and demonstrate your commitment to the future of the power industry.   More information on these opportunities is available on the registration page.

The day's outing begins at 1:00 p.m. with a shotgun start followed by awards presentations. Visit the registration page and make your reservation NOW.

Facing New Challenges

It is apparent that we, the electric power industry, are facing a new and challenging paradigm dictated primarily by environmental and social parameters. Climate change and carbon footprint drive the environmental side, while the social aspects include the needs of an ever-increasing population that conflict with expansion of the required electric supply to sustain that growth...
