IEEE PES Technical Committee Awards

Nomination due: 14th November

Each Committee has the following awards:

  • IEEE PES Technical Committee Distinguished Service Award
  • IEEE PES Technical Committee Prize Paper Award ( and Society Level Prize Paper Award)
  • IEEE PES Technical Committee Working Group Recognition Award (and Society Level Working Group Recognition)
  • IEEE PES Technical Committee Recognition Awards for Outgoing Committee & Subcommittee Chairs


1. IEEE PES Technical Committee Distinguished Service Award

Each Technical Committee is encouraged to request one award for outstanding distinguished individual service. This personal recognition acknowledges the efforts of those individuals whose sustained performance, over many years and/or has contributed to the advancement of the committee technology. This award consists of a plaque with a suitable citation. Please complete the form below for your Distinguished Service Award recipient to the Technical Committee Awards Committee Chair by November 14. The award will be available and distributed to you or your representative at the Technical Committee Meeting.

2. IEEE PES Technical Committee Prize Paper Award

Each Technical Committee of the Technical Council is entitled and encouraged to prepare an award to the author(s) of an outstanding technical paper. This award consists of a framed certificate with inscription for the authors. Please complete the form below to the Technical Committee Awards Chair by November 14. This selection process is a separate and distinct one from the PES Prize Paper Award nominations. Most committees choose to recognize the same paper for both the Technical Committee level and PES level awards. If your intention is to nominate the same paper, please indicate this on the form. The committee level awards will be available and distributed to you or your representative for presentation.

Most committees also choose to submit/elevate the same paper for to the Soceity level IEEE PES Prize Paper Awards (by checking the appropriate box on the form). Please complete the form and forward the name(s) of those selected by your committee for recognition to the Technical Committee Awards Chair by December 31 if they are to be considered for the IEEE PES Prize Paper Award.

3. IEEE PES Technical Committee Working Group Recognition Award

Each Technical Committee of the Technical Council is encouraged to select one Working Group to be recognized for outstanding performance. This award consists of a framed certificate to be presented to the Working Group Chair (and other officers, if any). Working Group members will receive a paper certificate. Please complete the form below for this recognition to the Technical Committee Awards Chair by November 14.

This selection process is separate and distinct from the Society Level IEEE PES Working Group Award nominations. However, the same working group may be recognized for both awards by your committee. Indicate on the nomination form if you will nominate or have nominated the same working group for the society level award. The committee level award will be available and distributed to you or your representative for presentation.

 4. IEEE PES Technical Committee Recognition Awards for Outgoing Committee & Subcommittee Chairs

Each Technical Committee is encouraged to recognize the contributions of outgoing committee and subcommittee chairs for service to the committee. This award consists of a mounted certificate for Committee Chairs or framed certificates for Subcommittee Chairs. Please forward the name of your recipients to the Technical Committee Awards Committee Chair at least 6 weeks prior to the meeting in which the recipient is to be recognized.
