Specialized Conferences and New Periodicals (SCNP) Committee

In line with the PES's interest to encourage the development of new systems and technologies in the broad arena of power and energy that are socially relevant, specialized conferences/workshops need to be organized to encourage discourse in these fields and develop communities around certain emerging topics. Along with high quality technical content, these meetings will also address the policy and societal aspects of the technology. The organic growth of such communities and their intellectual properties may provide the necessary support structure for a new IEEE PES journal with a new technology flavor. The SCNP Committee works with the leadership of the technical activities and meetings departments of PES to identify such emerging topics, builds teams with common interests and may help launch new periodicals.
