PES rewards chapter related activities with major two awards, which are described briefly below.

This award is given to two chapters, one large (membership is more than 100) and one small (membership is less than 100) that provided the best set of programs and activities for its members in the following categories:

• Technical Activities
• Societal Activities
• Membership Advancement, Fellow Nomination and Awards
• Enlistment of New Members 

The award consists of $1,000 cash, an Outstanding Chapter Award (OCA) Banner and framed certificates presented to the officers of the chapter by the PES president. The runner-up chapters receive $250.

To be considered, the chapter representative must the nominate the chapter by March 15 in the form of an article for the PES Newsletter describing the chapter activities. The Outstanding Chapter Award is described in more detail on the PES Chapters web site.
