Local chapters may take advantage of several awards for individuals and institutions who support their chapter activities. The request for these awards should be made to the chair of the Chapter Department Awards and Recognition Committee. This committee organizes and approves the awards.

The chair of the Chapter Department Awards and Recognition Committee is Ed Carlsen, E-mail: e.carlsen@ieee.org.

The following three awards are available:

1. Chapter Outstanding Engineer Award

This award recognizes an individual engineer who supported the chapter during the year. It recognizes outstanding technical or organizational activity. Each chapter can give one award in each year. A handsome improved plaque is available at no charge from the Chapter Department Awards and Recognition Committee. The criteria and process for the award is as follows:

1. The local Chapter selects an individual to receive based upon its own selection criteria the award and determines what the inscription should say about the selected individual.

2. To obtain a plaque, a request can be submitted by e-mail to the PES Chapter Department Award & Recognition Committee Chair which includes the inscription, when the award is needed and to whom the plaque should be mailed.

3. The plaque will be mailed to the individual indicated in the request.

4. The chapter chair presents the award at a PES Chapter Meeting or other appropriate time.

2. Corporate Recognition Program

This award recognizes a corporation's support of the chapter's activities. Any type of support from corporations that enriched the chapter operation should be considered. This award demonstrates the local chapter and PES appreciation for the support. A handsome engraved plaque is available at no charge from the Chapter Department Awards and Recognition Committee chair.

1. The local Chapter selects a corporation to receive the award and determines what inscription should be included on the plaque.

2. The request for plaque can be submitted by e-mail to the PES Chapter Department Award & Recognition Committee six weeks prior to the planned award ceremony.

3. The plaque will be mailed to the person indicated in the request.

3. Certificate of Appreciation

An individual, who over a number of years has supported the chapter, can be recognized with this award.

1. The local chapter selects the recipient and determines what the inscription should be.

2. The request for a plaque can be submitted by e-mail to the PES /Chapter Department Award & Recognition Committee. Please allow at least six weeks prior to the planned award ceremony.

3. The Certificate will be mailed to the person indicated in the request.
