IEEE Power & Energy Society Field of Interest The scope of the Society embraces planning, research, development, design, application, construction, installation and operation of apparatus, equipment, structures, materials and systems for the safe, reliable and economic generation, transmission, distribution, conversion, measurement and control of electric energy. It includes the developing of engineering standards, the providing of information and instruction to the public and to legislators, as well as technical scientific, literary, educational and other activities that contribute to the electric power discipline or utilize the techniques or products within this discipline. Constitution and Bylaws In March 2008, the voting membership of PES approved substantive changes to the PES Constitution which are designed to increase the effectiveness and nimbleness of PES governance and improve the positive impact that the Society has on the world beyond itself. Linked below are new Constitution and the latest version of the Society's Bylaws. The Bylaws were approved by the Governing Board in late 2007 and updated with the new Society name after the conclusion of the election in March 2008. |
